I've been told I have to write my yearbook statement, and to be honest I've sort of been dreading stuff like this because it means that soon I'll have to accept the fact that this academic year is drawing to a close and the big changes will begin to descend. I can't even think of words to describe the amazing people I've met, the things I've enjoyed or the memories I've shared...so it looks like my yearbook message will end up plain, simple and not really what I want to say, it will probably end up along the lines of "Yeah I had fun."
Additionally, now I'm beginning to realise just how much work these next few months will entail in the final push before GCSE exams...eurghh. Hopefully the results will end up being worth it.
As one of my favourite authors John Green put "Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia." in his brilliant book Looking For Alaska (you should definatly check it out, I'll probably blog more about it). I agree with this quote as undoubtedly, I've spent many moments thinking about what my life could be like, but as the lyrics to the song "You Wait For Rain" by Kyler England (also from the Vampire Diaries) say "You say you want change..but you're never sure", this really sums up some of my feelings. I guess you never know whether change is good until the change has happened.
On a random tangent, I thought I'd mention the fact that I watched the BRITS last night, like many people I was shocked to see Justin Bieber get an award over many more talented artists...guess it just shows the music industry these days isn't always all about how good the records are. Plus, I discovered for myself that at the moment I strongly dislike the songs in the charts..they're all too similiar and unoriginal. I think I'll just stick to unknown songs with beautiful meanings I've found through my fave tv show soundtracks and youtube videos. At the moment I'm really liking the band Morning Glory, especially the song A&E, its pretty much on repeat for the past few days.
Oh and speaking of music...I'm writing a piece on some computer software to describe the life cycle of a star as part of my GCSE Music composition...just thought you'd like to know.
