Monday...the day everyone seems to groan about (me included). The day furthest away from the promises of the weekend, the day signalling the start of another working calendar week. Each year we get through 52 Mondays, complaining about them unless a rare event occurs that makes us forget the fact its Monday and perhaps believe it were Friday. I bet Monday gets jealous of all the praise we give to Saturday.
Today of course it is Valentines day, and this year Monday gets to its turn to be the hosting day, it doesn't change the way I feel about Mondays personally but for many couples out there in their eyes, perhaps this Monday will be something special. In my opinion, Valentines day has lost its true meaning, instead of simply being a day to simply say "I've always loved you, you're special to me." as it should be, its turned into a full blown commercial event, where it is the norm for elaborate gifts to be exchanged, and when choclatiers, card and jewellery shops flourish.
Monday I don't mean to be horrible or anything but you truly drew the short straw of where to be placed in the week. But don't feel bad about it, you give us "Bank Holiday Monday", "Glee" (although I haven't liked this series) and used to bring us the amazing "Inbetweeners".
On another random note, I was ecstatic to see the Harry Potter movies presented with a BAFTA last night, those films truly deserve it, as undoubtebly millions of lives have been changed by the story of the boy wizard and friends- mine being one of those!
Going off on another tangent, I have just recently finished reading Animal Farm again, I love that book, its so short yet the messages it presents are so powerful, and the fate of Boxer never fails to make me cry!

Back to Mondays. Monday, I hate you, but I can't get rid of you so we'll just have to come to a mutual understanding.
